About our B&B
Nestled on a hillside in regenerating native bush, featuring stunning views of the Hauraki Gulf, Buffalo Lodge is an architecturally designed rustic lodge that blends nature and design.
Recently renovated, it’s ideal for a relaxing retreat, or as a home base for exploring the renowned beaches and hiking tracks of the Coromandel.
Take in the sea views, lush surroundings, and memorable sunsets from the sundeck (or your room’s private balcony) while enjoying pared-back luxury and modern indulgences such as Allpress coffee, Websters tea, and Real World plant-based body care products.
On a rainy day, curl up in the library with a book or Piecehouse puzzles featuring NZ-based art.
We aim to provide you with all the ingredients for creating your own perfect getaway.

Local information :
Well known for its relaxed lifestyle, pristine beaches and diverse hiking trails, Coromandel Town is home to a rich community of artists from around the world.
The Driving Creek Railway and Pottery (described below), in particular, is a must see, but you also won't want to miss the Coromandel Arts Tour or a visit to local artists' galleries.
Here are some of our favourite things to do around Coromandel Town and the broader peninsula:
1.9 km away | Driving Creek Railway and Pottery | Established in 1972 as one of New Zealand's first potteries, Driving Creek has become a hub for artists worldwide.
Hop on the railway tour through regenerating native forest up to the EyeFull Tower for phenomenal views of the Coromandel coastline.
Afterwards, take part in a pottery workshop, or glide through the kauri canopies on a zipline tour.
6.1 km away | Long Bay Walk | Walk along the coastline from Long Bay to Tucks Bay, the ideal spot for a quiet picnic on the beach.
Afterwards, continue on to the Long Bay Kauri Walk, where you're sure to be awestruck by the 1200-year-old kauri tree.
14 km away | Waiau Kauri Grove and Waterfall | Take a dip in the area's best swimming hole, and follow it up with a quick loop (20-30 minute return) through the mature kauri grove.
15 km away | Castle Rock (Motutere) | A steep, challenging track which is not easy to find, those who manage to make it to the top of Castle Rock are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Coromandel Range and the surrounding coastline.
22.5 km away | New Chums (Wainuiototo) Beach | One of New Zealand's most iconic and yet still untouched beaches, New Chums lives up to the hype.
You will be pleasantly surprised by how secluded it can feel in spite of its renowned beauty.
Depending on the day, you could easily have the entire beach to yourself.
