We’re lucky to have a number of independently owned shops, two local butchers, two fishmongers, a bakery, two art galleries, a gorgeous designer clothes boutique, quality homeware shops, a great book shop, famous locally-made ice cream from Zavaronis - as well as quality eateries such as Harry Haw’s, Musicker and The Coffee Stop.
Around Bute we have lolloping seals at Scalpsie Bay, huge cakes & sandy beaches at Ettrick Bay Tearoom, world class outstanding Gothic architecture in Mount Stuart House, Ascog Victorian Fernery, gorgeous walks, cycling, great golf on any of Bute’s 3 golf courses.
Loch Fad offers trout & pike fishing, Ardbrannan offers horse & pony riding.
There are standing stones and light houses.
