Abbey B & B
Welcome to the Abbey B & B. Our nearly new home is situated approximately 6km from the city CBD.We are in a quiet rural area surrounded by forest and farms but close enough to the city center for restaurants, shopping & entertainment. Wake to the sound of birdsong rather than noisy traffic!Breakfast on our large deck overlooking native forest; take a stroll to the nearby Abbey Caves or the AH Reed Kauri Park. Whangarei is the "hidden gem" of the North. Your friendly "kiwi" hosts will be keen to share their local knowledge with you. |

What to see & do : | Whangarei is a well kept secret! We are lucky to be central to an area of outstanding natural beauty by-passed by many travelers! Endless beaches,a sheltered harbour, awesome mountains, amazing forests, waterfalls and glow worm caves are close by or a short drive away. Go swimming or diving at the world famous Poor Knights Islands, rated by Jaques Cousteau as the best sub-tropical dive spot; or big game fishing from Tutukaka, sky diving, bushwalking, surfing etc. We have art galleries, libraries and museums and a kiwi house. Marvel at the 1000 year old kauri trees in AH REED PARK. The Bay of Islands is but an hours drive away as are the vast beaches of the wild West Coast at Dargaville. Visit Tane Mahuta (Lord of the Forest), the 2500 yr old giant kauri tree in the Waipoua Forest sanctuary. You will be amazed at what the area has to offer. We also operate a local tour service (The Round Trip) for visitors and can arrange to pick you up from Auckland or whangarei airports or your accommodation. |
